Compatibility with MacOS X Lion

PhoneHerald versions 1.1.14 and lower are not compatible with MacOS X Lion. Despite discontinuing PhoneHerald, Parliant has released a version to provide compatibility with MacOS X 10.7 Lion.

Note, the voices provided by Parliant (labelled as Parliant in the voice popup menus) in PhoneHerald will not work in Lion. If you require the use of these voices, we recommend you continue to run PhoneHerald on Snow Leopard or earlier versions of MacOS X. After the upgrade, if PhoneHerald encounters a job using these voices, it will substitute voices provided by MacOS X instead. "Victoria" will be used instead of "Heather" and "Lucy", and "Alex" will be used instead of "Ryan." Note that Lion now includes more high quality voices that you can download using the Speech System Preferences. Once downloaded, you can use these voices in PhoneHerald.

PhoneHerald 1.1.15 is compatible with MacOS X 10.7 Lion. It can be downloaded from the downloads page. Please run this installer after upgrading to Lion.
